Jacob lives and breathes the game of basketball and like most coaches, has an extensive background with both playing and coaching. His career started at Detroit's Pershing High School where he was coached by 2 prominent names in this industry and became the all city player his senior year. Both Johnny Gaston and Mark White laid down the foundation for Jacob to become the coach he is today. After Pershing, Jacob continued his basketball career at Bismarck State College where he played for 2 years and moved on to University of Sioux Falls for 2 more years where he earned a BS in Exercise Science. Jacob uses the skills he learned in those 4 years to this day. From there, Jacob went from snow to sunny beaches here in Miami and started his coaching career as the head coach for Girls Basketball at Miami Edison Senior High. After one year he went to Miami Central for a year and then ended up at Miami Beach Senior High where he continued to coach Girls Basketball for another 6 years before becoming the Head Coach for Boys Varsity Basketball.
Jacob created Miami Dade Basketball after a brief conversation he had with another Miami Coach where he was asked who the top kids in the city were. In addition to sending the coach a list of the top players, Jacob decided to post the list to a social media page he created that ranked the top players in the county. Very quickly, this grabbed the attention of many local, national and college coaches. This really excited Jacob because it gives a chance to further the career and lives of these kids through a college education, which is something that is very dear and near to Jacob. Soon after, Jacob decided it was time to recognize the top player in the county by awarding them with the Mr. Basketball Award.

As VP and President of Girls Basketball, Stephanie visits local high school teams' practices and games doing write-ups about the basketball community and coaches. Stephanie also hosts girls basketball events and does Rankings with coaches' direct input.
